SEATLLE, WA (Laserfiche) Oct. 13, 2008—Laserfiche® announced today that it will exhibit at the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA) conference this week in Seattle to be held at the Washington State Convention Center.
Laserfiche (booth 2314), a premiere electronic document management solution (EDMS) provider, will show health information management professionals how to automate and streamline privacy and security, coding, electronic health records, reimbursement, and compliance processes.
“There are so many advantages to digitizing documents, including sharing information quickly and easily,” said Laserfiche Director of Healthcare Solutions, Jim Silvia. “Scanning documents and implementing a document management solution significantly improves workflow efficiencies. Yet, only a small percentage of industry professionals have taken that first step to automate processes, maybe fearing the cost and the work involved.”
Information security, a need for kinder, more efficient patient care, HIPAA regulations, and the need for automation and streamlining of medical records and billing are all issues that have fueled interest in implementing an EDMS system.
Laserfiche has worked with hundreds of healthcare clients to eliminate their fears, working with them step-by-step to easily and inexpensively automate the filing of all their documents, faxes and e-mail messages; automate the routing of documents with e-mail notifications and time-out alerts to improve efficiency and accountability; accelerate billing processes with faster, more efficient access to EOBs and other supporting documents.
Additionally, Laserfiche digital records storage and comprehensive security and centralized records management capabilities have helped simplify compliance and help enforce and maintain consistent policies organization-wide. “Our goal is to increase awareness among healthcare professionals of how an EDMS system with sophisticated workflow tools can improve patient, billing and administrative records management,” Silvia said.
