eCopy Presents Laserfiche With Best Practices Award
3 min read
FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla., — eCopy, Inc., a leading provider of solutions that integrate paper documents into enterprise software applications, today presented Software Connections and Laserfiche with the Software Developer Best Practices Award at the eCopy Paper Connection Forum. The award recognizes the two firms as providing the most innovative business application that leverages the eCopy Software Developers Toolkit (SDK).
Software Connections developed the Laserfiche Connector for eCopy ShareScan OP, a software application that enables office teams to collaborate more effectively and intelligently by using network-attached copiers to add paper documents to Laserfiche-supported electronic business processes.
“Our partnership with eCopy has opened new doors for Software Connections, expanding our business by offering the market’s best document scanning and distribution capabilities,” said Ron Rasberry, vice president at Software Connections. “With the eCopy SDK, we were able to develop one connector that integrates Laserfiche with the majority of office copiers on the market. It enabled us to focus our efforts on providing application value and not on imaging technology and integrating multiple office copier brands with the Laserfiche application.”
The Laserfiche Connector integrates eCopy document imaging and distribution software with Laserfiche document management software, making it easy to add, index, and route paper documents directly to a folder in a Laserfiche repository. The Connector maintains document security by reflecting unique user permissions at the copier to protect against unauthorized use. The software also provides a comprehensive audit trail, which is a critical requirement for organizations in order to achieve compliance to government regulations or to protect sensitive information in using their Laserfiche document management system.
“This seamless integration of eCopy with Laserfiche is an important example of Laserfiche’s commitment to helping our customers maximize their investments in multifunction device fleets,” said Brian LaPointe, director of strategic solutions at Laserfiche. “We are pleased that the Laserfiche Connector provides an easy way for copiers to be incorporated into distribute-and-capture environments, and are excited to receive this award from eCopy.”
The eCopy SDK reduces the development resources required to provide integration to eCopy document imaging and distribution software. It provides access to eCopy application programming interfaces (APIs) and a GUI-interface generator that enables developers to easily create screens that match the look and feel of those used by major copier manufacturers in their embedded architectures and the eCopy ScanStation OP. The GUI-interface generator includes templates for software clients running on both embedded multifunction product platforms and ScanStation OP, which operates with Canon, Gestetner, HP, Lanier, Ricoh, Savin, Sharp, and Toshiba copiers. Independent Software Vendors can more easily develop source code for the integration framework using the SDK’s Visual Studio.NET Connector Wizard.
“The Laserfiche Connector demonstrates what our SDK is about — delivering software that makes it easy for any office worker to add paper-based information to an enterprise application,” said Vickie Malis, vice president of Marketing at eCopy. “Software Connections has demonstrated why independent software vendors are moving to embrace eCopy as a standard method for integrating their products with MFP scanning capabilities. We congratulate Software Connections and Laserfiche as providing an application that enables best practices business workflows in mission critical processes.”
The second annual eCopy Paper Connection Forum brings together office equipment dealers, copier manufacturers, software vendors, value added resellers, system integrators, and industry experts to collaborate on new, innovative solutions for paper to digital document workflows. The event is taking place April 3 – 6 in Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.
