New package of prebuilt forms and downloadable tools improves public service delivery and access to public records
Laserfiche today announced the availability of the government package in the Business Process Library, a collection of prebuilt business processes that provide the tools necessary for rapid business process automation and deployment. The new package—created in response to a growing need for government agencies to improve public service delivery and access to public records—allows government agencies to select from a range of processes and download configurable templates that can be deployed with only a few clicks.
“Automation is critical for government agencies to provide better access to information and analyze large volumes of public data,” said Katie Burke, Government Program Strategist at Laserfiche. “This package is the ideal solution for state and local governments looking for rapid automation and deployment, helping agencies provide improved, scalable services while controlling cost.”
Data from the 2016 Digital City, County and States Survey from the Center for Digital Government shows that providing convenient, responsive and open government to the public is a top priority for local and state agencies, but executing on that priority can be a challenge.
“Being able to access a set of prebuilt tools, designed with government in mind, puts the power in the hands of customer-facing agencies,” said Todd Sander, Executive Director of the Center for Digital Government. “It also allows innovative leaders to quickly overcome two of the most commonly identified constraints: the cost of custom development and the difficulty in attracting and retaining top technology talent.”
The government package includes downloadable tools and prebuilt process templates that can be used across government functions. Key templates now available include:
- Agenda item approval
- Business license application
- Business license renewal
- Committee review
- Contract approval
- Liquor license application
- Public notice request and public comment
- Public records request
Loudoun County, VA, one of the fastest growing counties in the United States, has used Laserfiche since 2007 to improve citizen service and increase transparency. The county’s Laserfiche system enables employees to automate mission-critical business processes, giving citizens a better, faster experience while boosting employee productivity.
Jakub Jedrzejczak, ECM Systems and Database Administration Team Manager, leads a team that has implemented Laserfiche ECM in 30 county departments, including: Finance and Procurement; Commissioner of the Revenue; Family Services; Commonwealth’s Attorney; Community Corrections; and many more.
“As we standardized on Laserfiche, we have been able to retire five legacy imaging systems, build 82 departmental ECM solutions and integrate Laserfiche with 19 multidepartmental systems,” he said. “Laserfiche business process automation enables Loudoun County to deliver the high-quality, responsive public services our citizens expect. The release of the Business Process Library will enable us to deploy automated processes more rapidly and cost-effectively.”
