More than 2,800 attendees gathered at the Long Beach Convention & Entertainment Center for the second day of the Laserfiche Empower 2016 Conference. Highlights included a keynote speech about enterprise transformation from Pierre Ferrari, Heifer International President and CEO. For over 70 years, the groundbreaking organization based in Little Rock, AR, has helped more than 25 million families worldwide lift themselves out of poverty.
“Heifer is one of many leading organizations at our global conference that have partnered with Laserfiche to drive business innovation,” said Chris Wacker, Laserfiche CEO. “We are excited to see customers, reseller partners and analysts come together to network, share insights and learn how to harness the power of Laserfiche enterprise content management.”
Ferrari’s keynote speech introduced attendees to Heifer International’s mission of fighting hunger and poverty through sustainable agriculture. He shared several stories including that of Dhan Kumari Airi, a Nepali woman who received goats from Heifer and, as a result, has been able to purchase land, obtain electricity for her home and pay for an education. She also passed on the gift of animals and knowledge to her community members to exponentially grow Heifer’s impact.
“Laserfiche’s contract management capabilities will allow us to engage more rapidly with our business partners to help impoverished families in remote areas of developing countries,” said Ferrari. “Our vision is that all of our workers across the world will use Laserfiche ECM, which will help us work more efficiently with every dollar we spend to help others.”
“Heifer International is leveraging Laserfiche as a key part of its technology ecosystem to scale its impact,” said Thomas Phelps, Laserfiche Vice President of Corporate Strategy and Marketing. “We’re delighted to have Pierre Ferrari join us at Empower 2016 to share Heifer’s mission in fighting hunger with our attendees.”
Empower 2016 attendees also heard from speakers including Melissa Webster, IDC Vice President of Content and Digital Media Technologies, a leading provider of research-based insight on worldwide technology trends. Webster explored trends shaping the ECM market and shared recent IDC research on the role ECM plays for organizations that are thinking strategically about digital transformation.
