LONG BEACH, CA (Laserfiche)—January 27, 2011—Laserfiche has announced the winners of its annual Run Smarter Awards program, including Texas A&M University-Kingsville (TAMUK). Each year, Laserfiche honors organizations that succeed in promoting organizational agility through innovative use of Laserfiche enterprise content management (ECM).

To overhaul tedious and paper-laden document management and business processes in its administrative offices, TAMUK implemented Laserfiche ECM. By integrating Laserfiche with FabSoft, the university was able to automate document processing directly from its remote mainframe.

Ralph Stephens, Project Manager at TAMUK, reported that the university realized immediate savings. “Overnight delivery carriers, mail service and long‐distance fax charges have decreased, while duplicative copies have been reduced, document security has been enhanced, information sharing has increased and, most importantly, we’ve dramatically improved our customer service response time.”

Director of Budgets Tina Livingston added, “Response time to inquiries—both internal and external—has been greatly reduced. There is no paper, no file cabinets, no hassle. Yesterday’s work seamlessly appears on today’s screen without a touch.”

She concluded, “Rather than printing 4,000 pages of paper a day, our departments use Laserfiche to selectively print only the purchase orders or vouchers they need.”
