LONG BEACH, Calif.— Laserfiche, a provider of premier document management software solutions, will demonstrate Laserfiche Version 7.2 at AIIM Expo 2006 in Philadelphia this week. A significant update to the current version of the software, Laserfiche 7.2 features a host of new features designed with business and government users in mind.
“When it comes to document management solutions, almost all users have very specific needs, due to the sheer volume and variety of documents they work with,” said David Lakness, vice president of business development at Laserfiche. “Since we developed Laserfiche 7.2 with significant input from our current users in a wide range of industries, AIIM Expo is the ideal venue at which to launch this latest release.”
Among the most anticipated new features in Laserfiche 7.2 is “Check In/Check Out.” This collaboration feature allows multiple users to modify documents and track changes made by multiple users with the safety of keeping documents from being overwritten. More than simple version control, Check In/Check Out ensures absolute security of dynamic documents before being saved as permanent.
Other upgrades in Laserfiche 7.2 include expanded support for foreign languages, drag/drop compatibility with Microsoft Outlook, search enhancements and greatly enhanced document auto-naming capabilities, to name just a few.
In late 2005, Laserfiche was certified for use on the United States Navy/Marine Corps Intranet (NMCI), and was also recertified by the United States Department of Defense as DoD 5015.2 compliant.
