LONG BEACH, CA (January 16, 2014)—Laserfiche has announced the winners for the government category of its annual Run Smarter® Awards program, and state agencies from Georgia took two of the top seven spots.
Georgia Department of Community Health (GDCH) won a Run Smarter® award for using Laserfiche to automate a variety of processes, including the state health benefits plan open enrollment process, invoice processing and case tracking. By automating the open enrollment plan, GDCH saves $300,000 a year. By using Laserfiche to help it achieve a higher level on the Medicaid Information Technology Architecture assessment scale, GDCH will generate millions in additional revenue.
“At a time when the rollout of the Affordable Care Act is drawing ire, it is refreshing to see a state healthcare agency successfully implement technology to cut costs and boost revenue,” said Chris Wacker, Executive Vice President at Laserfiche. “We are pleased to congratulate Georgia Department of Community Health on its efforts.”
Prosecuting Attorneys’ Council of Georgia uses Laserfiche to support 800 elected and appointed prosecutors at 49 Judicial Circuits across the State of Georgia. It uses Laserfiche to streamline a number of business processes, including accounts payable processing, requisition processes, travel reimbursement, and check and ACH processes, among others.
According to Mark Williams, CFO of the Prosecuting Attorneys’ Council of Georgia, “I can sum up the ROI of our Laserfiche initiative in just one word: ‘Wow!’”
The Run Smarter® awards ceremony took place this morning during the Empower 2014 Conference in Anaheim, CA. For real-time updates, follow #empower14 on Twitter.
